Google Business Profile Checklist for Restaurants

For many guests, a local search result is their first look at a restaurant. Keep your Google Business Profile accurate and make it easy for people to decide what to do next.

Check the essentials

  • Confirm the restaurant name, address, phone number, hours, and website link.
  • Keep holiday or temporary hours current.
  • Review the primary and additional business categories for accuracy.
  • Add a clear description that reflects the actual restaurant.
  • Confirm that menu, reservation, and ordering links work on a phone.

Keep photos and updates current

Use recent, authentic photos that represent the current menu, dining space, and guest experience. Only publish imagery you own or have permission to use. Add updates when they help guests make a decision, rather than posting simply to fill a schedule.

Make review responses part of operations

Set a regular time to read and respond to reviews. Be specific, professional, and careful not to disclose guest details. If a review identifies an operational issue, pass it to the right person internally as well as responding publicly.

Review the guest journey

Open the profile on a mobile device and follow each important link. Check that hours, phone, menu, directions, and ordering are clear and consistent with your website and in-store information.
