A Practical 12-Month Restaurant Promotion Calendar

A useful restaurant promotion calendar is not twelve unrelated discounts. It is a planning tool that helps your team coordinate menus, staffing, photos, email, social posts, and local partnerships.

Plan in quarters

Start each quarter by checking the local event calendar, weather and seasonal patterns, menu plans, staffing capacity, and the campaigns that performed well last year. Confirm dates with your team before promising offers publicly.

Give each month a simple focus

Choose one primary theme each month, such as:

  • A seasonal menu or limited-time item
  • A holiday or community event
  • A guest appreciation or loyalty message
  • A local partnership or fundraiser
  • A behind-the-scenes story about your team or ingredients

These are prompts, not a fixed calendar. Local conditions and your restaurant's capacity should determine the final plan.

Make the plan operational

For each promotion, write down the target guest, offer or message, channels, owner, start and end dates, and the result you will review. Confirm inventory, labor, POS setup, and offer terms before launch.

Use a manageable cadence. A promotion that is easy for the team to execute consistently is more useful than a complicated calendar that adds pressure during service.
